Hyundai i20 to be launched coming Monday
The premium hatchback from the Hyundai stable, the i20, it all set to be launched on 29th of this month. This is the next car from the ‘i’ series after the successful i10. Hyundai will be hoping to reviving its car sales as sales have declined by about 20% due to the current economic downturn.

The car is rumored to be available with the 1.2l kappa engine initially. This is the same engine that powers the i10 currently. The other engine options such as the new 1.4l diesel engine will be made available in the upcoming months.
The car is expected to come with a lot of features. It will be competing in the space between the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Skoda Fabia as it will be priced between them as well.
The previous hatchback Getz was not well received as it wasn’t well equipped, was priced higher and looked a generation older. It is said that the Getz will continue selling with a lower variant and i20 will be priced slightly above it. Hyundai would be hoping that this car overcomes the failure of Getz and continues the successful run of the lower ‘i’ series variant - the i10.

I myself was waiting for the diesel variant of i20 and it seems that I will have to wait a few more months.
